The Story of the Natural Jute Basket

It was woven by artisans in India from the coarse, strong and natural fiber of the East Indian jute plant.  It is a rain-fed crop, requires no chemical pesticides and fertilisers, and grows fast. Because of its brownish colour and high value, it is also referred to as the 'golden fibre'.
